Reaching Children Initiative

A project to test and implement tools and resources for the identification and management of anxiety and other mental health conditions in the population impacted by the events of September 11.

Status:

2005 to 2006

  • Who: The project involved 120 pediatricians reaching more than 2,000 impacted children.
  • Funder: The project was funded by the American Red Cross and conducted in partnership with the local chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, the Mount Sinai Medical Center, as well as the Families of September 11th and Tuesday’s Children.
  • Our Role: Provided expertise, trainings, tools and strategies about diagnosing mental health.
