NICHQ COO Heidi Brooks named Interim CEO
BOSTON — Heidi Brooks, MA, MBA, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ), will begin serving as interim CEO on Sept. 15, 2025. Earlier this year, Scott D. Berns, MD, FAAP, CEO and President of NICHQ, announced his planned retirement on Sept. 12, 2025.
Brooks joined NICHQ’s executive team as COO in June 2020, working closely with Berns to build on NICHQ’s legacy as a driver of improvement in children’s health quality and to expand our portfolio of projects.
