Berns announces plans to retire as CEO and President of NICHQ in September 2025
BOSTON – After a decade at the helm of NICHQ, Scott D. Berns, MD, MPH, FAAP, has announced his plan to retire as CEO and President of the organization. During his tenure, Dr. Berns led efforts to diversify NICHQ’s funding, doubling the annual revenue while increasing quality improvement expertise, deepening community engagement, and expanding clinical and public health partnerships.
“It has been the honor of my career to lead an outstanding team in deepening our mission and broadening our programming to help every child achieve their optimal health,” said Berns. He noted that NICHQ is well-positioned for the future, including significant private foundation support for its newest initiatives.
Berns will be actively involved in the search for new leadership. During the next six months, he will continue to guide the NICHQ team in managing the programs and projects that serve health professionals and communities in states and territories nationwide.
