NICHQ Announces Staffing Changes in Development, Finance, and Programs

The National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) is pleased to announce the recent promotions of several dedicated members of our Development, Finance, and Programs teams. 

Join NICHQ in celebrating our staff and welcoming them to their new roles.  

Meghan Johnson, MSc –– VP, Mission Integration  

Meghan Johnson, MSc, will take on the new role of VP of Mission Integration at NICHQ. As VP of Mission Integration, Johnson is responsible for promoting the active engagement of the staff and constituents in understanding, appreciating, sustaining, and advancing the mission of the NICHQ. She will play a central role in communicating NICHQ’s distinctive identity to a wide range of internal and external constituents. 

Amy Oppenheim –– Director of Development 

Amy Oppenheim has been named NICHQ’s Director of Development, tasked with building on its 20 years of success in catalyzing improvement in children’s healthcare, NICHQ is extending its focus to also include the other systems that affect the health and well-being of vulnerable children and families including public health and community resources. Additionally, Oppenheim will be responsible for identifying opportunities and strategic funders and partners, diversifying NICHQ’s portfolio of funding sources, supporting other members of NICHQ’s leadership team in cultivation efforts.  

Kim Sprunck, MSW, MPH –– Director of Program Operations 

Kim Sprunck, MSW, MPH will now serve as NICHQ’s Director of Program Operations. She will be responsible for overseeing policies, systems, and procedures to ensure effective delivery of NICHQ programs/projects, and work collaboratively with senior leadership and project staff to develop systems, processes, and support mechanisms to ensure efficient and streamlined program operations and delivery.  

Dominique Maffei, MSc –– Associate Project Director 

Domonique Maffei, MSc, has been named Associate Project Director of NICHQ’s Supporting Healthy Start Performance Project (SHPP). She will be responsible for managing day to day funder relationship, providing oversight for project budget and contracts, clarifying, driving, and managing project scope and high-level deliverables and ensuring any changes are documented, communicated, and approved by project leadership, and sharing accountability for driving and achieving project results with project leadership. 

Amy Hu, MBA –– Senior Financial Analyst 

Amu Hu, MBA, will serve as NICHQ’s Senior Financial Analyst. She will be tasked with the maintenance of project financial accounting, reporting, and month end close. As a Senior Financial Analyst, Hu will be responsible for developing and assuring the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and funder requirements. Additionally, Hu will join senior team members in leading the annual budget and forecast process. 

Kelly Edwards, MPH –– Senior Project Manager 

Kelly Edwards, MPH, has taken on the role of Senior Project Manager. She is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of all activities within a mid-size project and/or major components of large projects that are more complex in size and scope. Edwards is also responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of all activities within a mid-size project and/or major components of large projects that are more complex in size and scope. 

Tess Pritchard –– Project Manager 

Tess Pritchard will serve as a Project Manager on NICHQ’s Supporting Healthy Start Performance Project (SHSPP). She will be responsible for building and managing SHSPP project plans, driving and managing day to day project tasks, and specific deliverables, ensuring the project is on track to meet deadlines and within scope, and elevating any concerns regarding scope, timelines, or deliverables to project leadership.
