Our Body of Work

NICHQ started out as a vision from a team of pediatric and public health leaders. They saw a critical need to improve children’s healthcare, especially to address issues of quality in ambulatory pediatrics. Following an initial project that launched in 1997, NICHQ secured start-up funding from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and was officially founded in 1999. In the past two decades, we have expanded our work to include an emphasis on the social and community influences of children’s health. It's in the space of building bridges between healthcare, public health and communities that we see the most potential for driving change in children's health outcomes.
